A few weeks ago I attended a blogging conference called Blog On at the Museum of Science & Industry in Manchester. It was great and I had a really enjoyable day learning and socialising with loads of bloggers. We also got the chance to chat to various brands and PR agencies, and came away loaded down with bags full of goodies.
Today I thought I would share what have been our favourites, two weeks on.
I came home with a huge amount of stuff but this selection of goodies have to be my favourite items. Black Sheep Wools gave me some knitting needles, yarn & pom pom makers to get a start with some knitting, and also a lovely mug and coaster (presumably so I can have a cup of coffee to unwind when I get myself into a tangle).
I won a selection of Smiggle goodies on the raffle, and some face paint sticks on the tombola. I will have fun with both of these, and a few of my favourite bits of stationery are pictured above. I came away with plenty of yummy sweets from Swizzels, and the Peanut Hottie drink is delicious – weird, and perhaps a touch too sweet – but delicious.
I also got given a sunflower seedling from Supalite, which is doing well on the kitchen windowsill. Georgie has declared it her project, and nags me to let her water it. She actually helped me repot it earlier this week, so no doubt I’ll be posting a progress report on our sunflower soon! Hmm, maybe I should ask Georgie to give it a name…
In our bags, we got a few toys in surprise bags – everyone in this house loves Lego and so it was great to find a mini figure inside our goody bag. I would have claimed this one for myself but four year old Georgie got there first, and was both confused and delighted to find a goth with a teddy bear inside. “Why is she so grumpy, Mummy?” We got a few of the shopkins bags, which we’ve not come across before, and the girls are both intrigued and pleased with them.
Who doesn’t love a cheeky takeaway? We have had a busy few weeks (months!) and after a particularly bad few days earlier this week is was so nice to sit back and relax after the girls had gone to bed, and order ourselves an indian for dinner. We don’t treat ourselves to takeaway very often and we definitely enjoyed our treat – thank you Hungry House!
I won this Camelbak kids explorer backpack in the raffle and it is going to be perfect for geocaching adventures with Georgie! The drinking bottle was in the goodie bags and to save arguments (honest!) I have decided to keep this one for myself, as I needed a refillable bottle for when I’m out and about, especially when I am doing the preschool run in warm weather (it is a bit of a hilly mile long!).
Last, but by no means least, is this bottle of Prosecco from the Co-Operative. We were served this at Blog On itself and it was really nice. James and I have actually signed up to Naked Angels recently and have had a few bottles of some very lovely Prosecco from them, but this Co-Op one certainly holds it’s own in comparison. Yummy! We will definitely be buying this one in future for a treat too, Prosecco is my drink of choice.
Well, there you have it – our favourites from our Blog On bags of stuff. I definitely recommend this little lot.
I did pay a ticket fee for Blog On, along with paying for my tombola & raffle tickets. Everything pictured in this post was either free in one of conference goodie bags, gifted to me at a brand stall at the conference, or won as a prize. This post reflects my honest opinions of these products.
